Introducing the 2007 Homes of the Year

The Daytona Beach News-Journal introduces its new Home of the Year Contest, which was developed to highlight the finest new homes built in Volusia and Flagler counties and to recognize the builders of these homes.

The News-Journal's Home of the Year Contest includes a wide variety of homes and styles, including price ranges. The contest featured four price-range categories — more than $500,000, less than $300,000 and townhomes and villas. Homes also were judged for individual rooms and features such as living rooms, kitchens, dining rooms, bonus rooms, entertainment or game rooms, bedrooms, bathrooms, outdoor living, landscaping and pools.

An independent panel of five professionals versed in interior decorating, design and real estate judged the contest.

These homes all feature the newest, top-of-the-line designs and innovations. The best homes of 2007 include all the upgrades and amenities discerning homebuyers expect.
